Lockdown Stories, Part 3: Clare Goodwin

During this (and – hopefully – the last) lockdown we wanted to hear more from our artists and what they are doing in isolation. So we asked them 3 questions about their life and their current practice, and that’s how this series was born – Lockdown Stories.

Clare Goodwin

1. What are you working on at the moment?

In January 2021 I brought myself a new ceramic Kiln for my Zurich studio. It’s so exciting. This is a big step for me, having total control on production, specially as I can't travel to Portugal at the moment. Parallel to my general studio practise I'm working on a public art commission at Silhcity shopping centre, presenting a project for a Kunst am Bau project in Lausanne, building a new group of Object Furniture for an exhibition opening in Zurich in April and drafting ideas for a private wall commission in Bern.

2. How does the lockdown influences your art production?

The lockdown doesn’t necessarily have a big impact on my artistic production, it’s more the restrictions to move about, meet people, see exhibitions, travel back to England to see friends, family and realise a project in London which was cancelled in 2020.

3. What are you doing to stay amused?

Making art, running an artist led project called StudioK3, watching good films, talking with friends, reflecting and having quality family time.
